Citi PC Advice

I've had a Citi Diamond Preferred card for 8 years. They just sent me an email about PCing this to a Citi Rewards+ card and not sure if it is really worth it or if I should ask for a different card.

I only have my YouTubeTV subscription on this as I have other cards that are my daily driver as there are really not a lot of benefits on the current Diamond card.

Couple of DP's Fico's around 750, oldest account around 13 years. 7 CC's all with lines above 10k except this card (3700) and a Cap1 QS (5900) All cards are PIF before statement cuts. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Citi PC Advice

Doing a PC to another card is going to be a personal choice.  I'd only recommend it if you like the proposed card or if it's a forced issue.

I currently have 3 CitiCards: DC, Dividend, and a very aged AT&T Universal.  I keep getting PC offers for the DC and Dividend, both to the Rewards+.  No plans to give up the Dividend until they stop quarterly bonuses and the category spend is all I do.  The Universal card is my oldest aged card that I'd like to carry that heritage forward, yet never a PC offer. and just for a category spend that occasionally comes by, usually by a letter (!!) after the time period has started.

I would contact Citi and ask them if there are any other PC offers available besides the Rewards+ card.  Chances are your account may be eligible for others.

Do a bit of research beforehand to determine which Citi card(s) may be a better fit and call them up to see whether that might work PC-wise.  IIRC, the only one that will not be available is the Dividend card, unfortunately.

Re: Citi PC Advice

Good advice above. I just have one thing to add.

I PC'd my Diamond Preferred into a Costco Anywhere card about a year ago. It's fine, but I wish I had known beforehand that the Costco card is the only card they currently offer that is a dead-end from a PC perspective. It can never be PC'ed to anything else.

If you want pretty good cashback rewards while keeping your options open, Double Cash may be a good choice.
