I opened the Citi Prestige in Oct 2014 and didnt meet the spending requirement and ended up closing the account, I want to reapply for the card and earn the sign up bonus but the policy says I cant receive the bonus If I "opened or closed in the last 18 months". Do you think I'll be able to earn it the bonus because I never received the bonus the first time? Thanks in advance!
Doubtful although not familiar with Citi myself... Might have to wait 18 months... You can always call and ask?
Doesn't this card have a $95 annual fee? If you couldn't meet the required spending, do you think you'll spend enough each year to make up for the annual fee? Just wondering.

$450 standard annual fee. $350 with Citi Gold.
I was working on meeting spending requirements for two cards so thats where the trouble came from. Also, with the $250 airline credit, I could use for 2015 and 2016 it would cancel out the annual fee for the first year.
If you didn't get the bonus, you will qualify but call Citi directly as some that have re-applied received it and others didn't...
Ok, thank you!
Just spoke to a Citi CSR and he said I wouldnt be eligible even though I didn't receive the bonus the first time I had the card.
I went ahead and applied for the Premier and Prestige about 10 days apart and was approved for both (Want the combined 100K sign up bonus). It hasn't been 18 months since I closed my old Prestige account. Last time I didn't meet the spend requirement and closed the account early but was refunded part of my annual fee. The approval letter showed up today and included information about the 50,000 sign up bonus. Hopefully that means i'll get them. Also, I got the Premier before the change from 50,000 to 40,000 sign up bonus. Just wanted to share this in case anyone else was in a similar situation.
Congrats!
