Citi conversion question

Hi all,

For the past few months I have been getting emails from Citi to convert my TY card to a DC card. It states I will get a new account number if I accept so I'm wondering if I do this if it will show as a new account on my credit report. Has anyone taken advantage of this offer? Thank you.

I would be wary.

Re: Citi conversion question

I've done 2 PCs with Citi:

AA Platinum MC to Costco Visa. On TU and EX it shows as just one 2016 account, but on EQ it shows two accounts, both open. On EQ, AA Platinum is open as of the 2016 date I was approved with the SL (which hadn't increased when I PCed), and Costco as of the 2017 date I PCed (current limit after a few CLIs). New network so obviously a new card number.

Prestige to DC: New card number but only shows as one account.

So it usually doesn't show up as a new account, but there are infrequent exceptions.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Citi conversion question

Thanks for the info. I'll just leave it as is for now just in case.
