Not that i plan on apping for a few montgs, but was just wondering. Since I already have a citi card, do they pull 2 diffrent cra’s when I apply for a second card with them?
thanks
It can depend on your location. Citi always pulls both Equifax + Experian for my applications.
In my case few weeks ago, Citi Only pulled TU for my Citi AA.
My belief is the double pulls are not geographic but based on Citi's view of our application and credit bearing. In further considering this thread, @CreditCuriosity made me think that if a double pull related to credit for one and identification for the other geography (like a more recent move) could be a trigger for more identification examination.
In all my years Chase only pulled me double once (had moved) and other times once so it does open the door to being aware of one's credit and potential outside matters. Wonder now, if Chase and others are looking at LexisNexis, Inovis, Chex Systems and so on as part of some of the approvals they make and it triggers more than one pull?
Did not know about all this before coming to this site so I cannot go back and explore this potential theory? Food for thought.
My experience has always been a double pull like Chase usually one for credit decision and one is for identification purposes.
I've gotten two Citi cards this year (DC & Simplicity), both were double pull from EQ & EX.
Jan 2016 AA Platinum Select - EQ only
May 2016 Prestige - EQ + EX
NY state
So even though I was a totally new customer, I only got one HP for my AA card.
Didn't check for SPs, though.
