I've dealt with this in the past myself; as long as you don't share the same address as your father you should be fine.
If you happen to share the same address things get a little tricker since the offer could be for either of you, but even in this case you might be able to tell who the offer is for if your credit profiles are different, i.e. if the offer is for an APR or product that you're not accustomed to but is appropriate for him (or vice versa) that's a good sign.
