Who thinks I should just go for it to add a data point for everyone?

Let the polling begin!

Depends how bad a HP would be for you!   Also, since we don't know the factors involved, it's hard to use as a data point...   My last request for a Citi CLI (for the Forward) was a HP and got rejected, so I wasn't that happy.   But if you sort of want it, and a HP and/or denial is OK, sure, go for it.

Thanks for the responses!

I have a bronze spade that I would rather not sacrifice, but a small increase with an SP would be wonderful...

This is quite a difficult decision that I have been pondering for a few weeks. Is it really worth the HP? Ugh. I just wish we knew more

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

These types of responses are what make me want to hate citi and it's why the credit reform needs to be changed again... it should be flat out illegal for them to use some of the language they do because it confuses the heck out of people and really kind of points the finger to the credit report agency to really be the one that is doing the INQ and what not which is just silly.

To be fair, I am pretty sure most people do not care about one inquiry being on their report or even understand what an inquiry is. Most people probably never have more than three or four inquiries every two years.

A few months ago I did this and it turned out to be a hard, but I got what I wanted. I asked for 3000 the first time and 5000 for the other card, so maybe those amounts were to big to approve with a soft. If you really want the increase I say do it.

Yes, and sometimes you don't, and the skill lies in deciding which is which!

Basically, for many, a HP isn't the end of the world and is not scored at all after a year.   But, on the flip side, a CLI often isn't *really* that important either!

+1 to both Kutuzov and longtimelurker.

Taking chances is how I got the credit lines I have. But would taking a chance now benefit me at all? MyAAoA is over 4 years on all three reports, with 5 or fewer INQs on each report. Maybe I should hold INQs for a new signup bonus, and say forget it on increasing the lines that I don't even utilize as it is.

I think I will continue waiting for an auto CLI. Sorry for wasting everyone's time with silly questions.

I don't know what your balances are but considering they are your lowest and over 6 months old... I would be surprised for you to not get a SP CLI

Re: Citi unable to tell me if CLI is HP or SP...

They are my second lowest CL.

Here are my balances at most recent statement date:

Barclays - 1519/7500
Amex - 430/13500
Citi - 396/6500
Chase - 73/5000
Capital One - 567/9000

7.2% Util
This is entirely from charges incurred last month, I tend to be a heavy spender during the summer months, but always PIF.

and when you click CLI you see the same 4 type screen process I talk of?

Can't remember if they saw same screens but I'm suddenly thinking I remember someone talking about doing screen 1 and continue... and screen 2 and continue and boom it was done before they got to further.... but maybe it was a dream! lol

have you gone through a couple of the screens at least? it's not till you get all the way to the end and submit that you get the HP if it's that way...
