Citibank Blacklisted Then AU?

CIti will not let me in for a CC but my wife recieved an offer in the mail.  If she puts me down as an AU, do you think they will allow that?

More important I would use that as a stepping stone to get back into CIti on my own in a year or two.  Do you think that would work?

I don't see why not. Being an AU, the responsibility is still held on the primary account holder. I know in AMEX's case, you can do this to get your foot in the door and apply for your own card after about a year or so.

Does anyone have any experience in dealing with CIti on an issue like this?

Re: Citibank Blacklisted Then AU?

I did something similar with Chase. I didn't set out to do it; I was a short-term AU on a chase card a few yrs ago. Since it's on my cr, I thought I'd give Chase a shot (had co from the 80s). I was approved for $3k last month. Can't say for sure it will work, but I'd say there's a good chance, and you'll probably only know by trying.

I should know this but does the AU CR show the tradeline as "co borrower" like a mortgage or "authorized user"?

Re: Citibank Blacklisted Then AU?

I'm AU on a Citi, I only have one data point, from the Amex CreditSecure service:

Account Type - Flexible Spending Credit Card (EX), Revolving or Option (EQ), Revolving Account (TU)

I wonder what it would show on the CR one orders from the CRA direct ...

Citi allows you to be an authorized user even if you've burned them. I've had a mortgage with them that went south, but I'm an authorized user on my husbands credit card. I don't know if it will ever lead to getting back in good with them, but, I know the authorized used part works.
