Citibank Exxon/Mobil card holders, two questions for you.

I just got my Exxon/Mobil card from Citibank. Two questions.

First, am I supposed to activate this card? There was no sticker on the card telling me to do so like most cards have.

Second, they are telling me to manage my account online at exxonmobil.accountonline.com, however since this is a Citibank issued card, can I add this card to my existing Citibank account and manage it from there?

Appreciate any assistance.

No - you shouldn't need to activate it (it comes activated if I remember correctly)

No - you can't manage from your existing CITI account -- but you can use the same Username and PW on the Exxon site.

Just an FYI

That card dosent report to an CRA. I've had mine for 4 months and nothing has been reported.

Re: Citibank Exxon/Mobil card holders, two questions for you.

Be patient - it's in the works. GEMB was reporting - it disappeared from my CRs and so did DH's (a 15 year old account)

I have talked to Exxon/Mobil/Citi 3 times about reporting.  They took over the cards from GEMB in April and re-issued all cards around August - some people didn't get theirs, also some people didn't read the letter when Citi sent it about taking over the accounts and how to pay (they were still paying GEMB).  A decison was made to straighten everything out before reporting began (didn't want to ding the customers, I assume, for all the mix-ups).

I have been told each time that they should begin reporting in December (January at the latest - but was told December is realistic).  Citi does report my other cards that they manage so I am assuming that they will follow suit with Exxon.

I commend them for not reporting inaccurate info (which they could have done and just sorted it out later - it seemed to be widespread though so sorting it out would have a massive undertaking) and being pro-consumer on this one.

My card will be over a year old by the time they start reporting - so I am hoping for a nice bounce from it.  Citgo is also in the process of beginning to report.

FYI - Chevron told me they only report once every six months.

Re: Citibank Exxon/Mobil card holders, two questions for you.

I had a Mobil card from back in the day that was charged off in the mid 90s. I think this is when Mobil handled the financing themselves. I couldn't get an ExxonMobil card when GEMB handled it - yet I have a $2500 Sams Club AND a $1000 Lowe's through GEMB. Weird.

When Citi took ExxonMobil Card over I applied and got a card with a $200 CL. I went online and was able to immediately increase it to $1000. Plus I get a $10 rebate for the first 4 months of billing.

On all of the above cards my balance is 0. I use Exxon Mobil for gas only and PIF.
