I have had a Cap. One Secured card for about a year and want to close before the AF. I would like to reapp for another unsecured (have a QS1 that is a couple of months old.) How long do I have to wait to be able to go for another, knowing they have a 2 card rule for the lower end cards.

Won't happen with EQ frozen.

They don't have a 2 card rule when you have different products.
I would check the pre-qual online and if you are getting offers you are good to apply.
but still call and close the secured.

EQ Frozen is DOA with Capital One in most cases just like EX Frozen would be DOA with BoA or AMEX.

right, sorry I forgot that part... you can't get cap1 with frozen eq, "Sometimes" you can sneak through with a frozen TU or EX but not EQ!
Thanks, guess I will cancel prior to AF and just wait until my scores get a little higher to go for other cards (not a second Cap. One) since I have no desire to unfreeze Eq.

Why not just get them to refund/remove the AF?
