Combining Chase cards into 1 super limit card?!

I currently have the chase southwest visa and chase united cards. Each has $33,600 limit. I was thinking of apping for the sapphire preferred card, then moving $33,000 from each existing card onto the new once. I would then have 1 super limit chase card with a min $66,000+ limit.

I could then use the ultimate rewards points fro. This card to transfer to multiple airlines/hotels, rather than just southwest or united.

The only issue is losing two cards I've had for 5-10 years each from my credit report. The goal is to get that one card over $50-75k limit, to go back to my other card providers looking for some luv.

Thoughts?

So let me understand this correctly: you want one super-max credit card taking the limts of two $30k+ limit cards into your new one in order to get more CLI/SL consideration from other banks? This is just my opinion but I think this is entirely unnecessary. The two high limit cards you have are more than enough to show other banks you can handle big limits anything larger than that is not needed unless the other idea for this is consolidation.

Thanks. Yes, it's to consolidate from 2 cards to 1. This will save me about $100 in annual fees. Also, it would allow me to accumulate Ultimate Rewards Points rather than just the direct airline points (united/southwest). I can still transfer UR points to these and many other airlines (in case I want to travel international etc). Lastly, I can obtain a super line of $66 - 80k, which will make it easier to go to Citi,(@$32k) Amex ($35k) and Discover ($27k) to entice them to up my limits over $50k.

I agree with the first part, not the second here.

Your plan confuses me.  You already have great limits on a variety of cards, so I don't understand why you think you have to bump them all up to $50,000.

Why not leave $15,000 each on your Southwest and United cards, recognizing that they have some valuable benefits that the UR cards don't have?  That would still give you enough limit to build a new UR card into your primary travel card.

I can understand you wanting to knock out an annual fee on one card but the truth is you already have a $66,000 super limit.  You have a maximum financial limit with every creditor no matter how many cards they issue to you.

Assuming I'm understanding what you're saying here who says the OP can't get more from Chase or any other bank? I just don't think a Chase high limit card is the way to go but that's just me.

OK, as a CLI skeptic (well, I believe they exist!) lets follow the happy path:

1) You get your Chase UR card, with say an $80K CL

2) For whatever reason, Citi, Amex and Discover are sufficiently impressed to give you $60K limits on each of their cards.

Then what?   Yes, you can post here and get lots of "Congrats" messages, but what actual advantage is gained?  (CL wise, I understand the reduction in AF but they can be achieved just with Chase)

Or, it could make it harder to increase those other [then] substantially lower credit lines, as those lenders may see no reason to try and "compete" with such a larger limit.
