Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

Does this card require AAA membership? Currently I am not a AAA member. My AI search says no but AI can give wrong info.

Does Comemity Bank report the actual payment amount to the credit bureau. On annual credit report.com credit report you find this amount in the balance histories.

Thank you for your help

Re: Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

You definitely don't need to be a AAA member. I wasn't a member when I got mine.

No, just like with Chase's old AARP Visa. You didn't have to be an AARP member to get it.

Re: Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

For those considering this card, you might want to give the preapp a go with no risk.  If preapproved they will give you an SL and all you will need to do is accept.  Can't remember who they hard pull.  To gain access to the preapp you only need to sign up for an online access to the AAA.  No membership necessary.  But they will in the preapp ask if your a member.  Just say YES, they don't check.

Luckily for myself, when I was preapproved, I tried to get cute and locked down my credit reports before accepting, so as to see if I could avoid a HP.  Didn't work and the next day it was reported that the AAA card will be nerfed on May 15th.  No more elevated bonus for Walmart/Target or convenience stores.   Thus I dropped the notion that I wanted this CC, it's Comenity, barely one notch above Synchrony.  I really only wanted it for Walmart.  So I got the US Bank Shoppers Rewards Card instead.  Much better for SUB and 6% on Walmart, choices on PC after one year and other ways to avoid the AF.  Already have a general 3% CC for Costco, etc.  Have a CCC for other grocery stores, non warehouse or wholesale.

Re: Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

I see that you have a Walmart card in your sig, so @ElvisCaprice's reservations about the recent superstore nerfing may not matter to you. (They certainly don't to me, since I don't visit many convenience stores and I haven't set foot in a Walmart in probably ten years.)

I just looked at Experian's listing in BoA's MyCredit and the most recent payment is listed.

I love the card and use about $8K or so of the yearly $10K cap on 5% grocery cash back.

This is PROBABLY OK, but in the current and potentially future environments, be careful if "YOU LIED ON A CREDIT APPLICATION" could come back to haunt you (e.g non-citizen, or aspiring for high political office).   You, or rather your expensive lawyer, could probably argue that this is not a material misrepresentation, but the risk may not be worth the reward.....

Really rich to give this warning in a day and age where our highest officials of the land are grifting/robbing the taxpayers coffers, openly.   But I get where your coming from on a personal level.

Re: Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

@Follower  Thank you for actual payment amount  being reported.  My primary grocer is Walmart and I am a Walmart+ customer as well. I have my grociers delivered with Walmart+ delivery orders of $35.00 or more is free. Walmart+ costs $98 per delivery fee is $9.95 and I have 20 delivery orders a year.  Also Walmart pricing versus the local grocery store is better. All that said I use grocery rewards credit cards for what Walmart does not carry and produce I prefer to pick my own.

With Custom Cash it is either 5% or 1% cash back. With cards like  AAA Signature Visa you have multiple catagories for rewards other cards do not have a 5% catagory.

i also have read posts about Comenity Bank and their customer service etc. As long as I can pay the bill each month using bill pay I am good.

If you have a Sync One Pay Walmart Rewards CC, and a Citi CC, why would you want a AAA?  Just get a 3% catch all card and another CCC if needed?  Then the AAA offers nothing more.  The only reason you would get a AAA, in your case, is because you exceed the 5% cap on the CCC's for groceries, non warehouse or wholesale.  But again the solution is just more CCC's.

Re: Comenity Bank AAA Signature Visa Credit Card

@ElvisCaprice @At this point in time I have not restored the spend on the Customer Cash.  This will be about 60 to 90 days with zero spend on the card.  From my reading Citi usually does nothing until 2 years with no spend but can act without warning.

At this point in time the Comenity card is a just in case card.
