I only have the VS card and have had it for only one month. I would like to get the express card. I will wait until dec or next year. I purchase all my jeans from express. I am hoping if I use the card and carry a small balance ( no more than $30 or less) to see if I can get a CLI before the 7-9mth mark. We shall see.

On my Sportsman's guide Visa (my only shopping cart trick card), I had it for around 6 months--hitting the luv button about 3 times during that clip. The luv button finally came through with a small cli, and when it did it said at the bottom "if this cl is not sufficient call 800....." So I called to ask for more. The csr was kind of an A-hole to me, and he declined it citing the fact that I had just gotten one. I explained that it said to call if it wasn't sufficient, and he said "and now you've done that and it is denying you that because you just got one." To which I responded: "why would it tell me to call if it wasn't sufficient, then deny me because it wasn't sufficient?" I don't even remember what he said, but I was pissed. I did not escalate it or anything because I rarely use the thing and never let it report a balance when I do. Anyway, a couple days later--perhaps even the same day, I get an email asking for me to complete a survey, which I obliged. Of course I wasn't very satisfied, and my survey reflected that. A couple days later, I get a call from (I want to say the EO) SGV in response to my survey. I explained my experience and she empathized, apologized, and said she would look into it and call me back--asking how much of a cli I had asked for. My limit was 6k and so I told her that I wanted 11.5k. She called back like an hour later and said it was approved with just a SP. I thanked her for caring and for her diligence.
