Comenity SCT All HP’s

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share something that I found interesting that I hadn’t come across on here. I fell into the SCT for a few Comenity cards, and although I received the preapprovals via the SCT, all 4 of them were in fact HP’s, not soft pulls. Mainly Equifax, one Experian. Thought I’d share with you all to hopefully give someone else the info to make an informed decision on whether or not to pull the trigger on SCT pre-approvals

Thank you for sharing.  We've begun to get more and more reports of this lately.  Perhaps one of the Mods will combine all these posts and create a mega-thread so more people might see it and heed the warning.

Hi OP. This has been shared and known as far as data points on the forums for a while now. Several members have reported similar outcomes as it appears Comenity/CCB has removed the "cloaking" capability and pre-approved offers merely being treated as a regular application.

On the upside, though, if an individual is pre-approved, then they can decide whether the offer is worth it versus submitting a cold application.

All Equifax with Brylane home being the only exception pulling Experian.

Thanks! Yeah it’s a dagger but luckily I only have one other inquiry on my report. Only upside is they’ll all fall off together I guess.....in two years. Let the countdown begin haha
