I've had my Barney's card for over 2 months and noticed a fresh inquiry from them on my Experian report this month. I wonder what triggered it? They pulled me on the 27th of last month for an AKC card, which was declined. I have taken my SL from $1500 to $5000 via the robot lady on the phone. This might be something to consider for people asking for CLI's and applying for fresh cards.
Wow, looks as if the hard pulls may not be limited to jsut Comenity Visa and Mastercards and may now be happening with the store cards, or at least yours. Sorry that happened. Good for us to know before deciding whether to request CLI.

This isn't an unreasonable consequence. You are requesting credit, after all.
Maybe people will stop hitting the "luv button" every 5 minutes on their Comenity cards now...nobody needs 30k on a Barney's card!
Now if Comenity is going to do HPs they should explain it on the website where you submit the increase; however, as the above said, with seeking credit, they always have permission to pull regardless.

Not sure why you were responding to my post as I wasn't the one who requested the credit or asked the question. Or maybe it just posted under the wrong one.

I dont see the HP being removed. It is not inaccurate or wrong. OP seeked credit which can involve a HP. Nowhere does my Comenity BJs site say "no report will be pulled" or anything. Point is the HP was permissible and OP asked for a CLI, so just because desired results arent achieved doesnt mean the HP can suddenly be removed.
Are you responding to my post? I am explaining to the OP what I was told. It's up to OP if she/he want to call CS. A phone call won't hurt. If it is a system issue than another phone call will make Comenity aware that there may be a problem. To his/her own. Have a good day!!!

I think they are having a system issue. The same thing happened to my LB credit card. I called CS to verify that CLIs are still SPs and the rep confirmed with a resounding "Yes!"
Call CS and request HP be removed.
When I first got my Sportsman's Guide Visa card, CS said that all CLI requests are HP going forward. Now I know that we are talking CS here (ha ha), but we will have to expect the possibility of a HP any time we ask for a CLI, on any card.
