Thanks for all of the advise. I dont really need a CLI, so I may just wait till next year that way im not getting to many pulls in a months time frame. Hopefully by then they will automatically raise the limit.

I would go for the cli.on your USAA Platinum Mastercard: They do grant a increase every 6 months. They will pull Equifax for the cli and it will be a hard pull..

If you call in;  ask if your account is elgible for a credit limit increase and they will let you know before they pull your report.

Tip: make sure your overall utilization is low before you ask for the cli.

+1

This does seem to be a major factor. I have been denied all 3 times I requested over 18 months for CLI due to high util.

Edited to add: In fact, I have been denied everything I ever requested from USAA except my one initial card due to high util. Car loan and PLOC along with the CLIs

Just as a follow up, for both of my CLI in October (got cards in April) I had an overall utilization of 13%.

OP, if you don't wait until you are past your 6 month mark they will not process the CLI. They will tell you to wait until the card is 6 months opened.

Personal Credit? Check. Business Credit? Check.
Mission Accomplished.
Thanks MyFico!

I've had a USAA WMC since 12/12 with a limit of 5k since and I've never been automatically increased, nor have I ever requested a CLI...so it sits at 5k, til todaySmiley Tongue

I also have 2 USAA AMEX -- both opened 2/14.  The 1st is 6000@12.90 and the 2nd is 8500@14.90.  There is a slight balance on the 2nd card with a 0% BT.

Just today I played with the app on my phone and asked for a CLI on my 2 year old WMC and POOFSmiley Tongue .. They raised it from 5k to 11k

Then did the app thingy again for my Amex with 6k@12.90................................................................Poof Smiley Tongue ....They raised it from 6k to 11k again!!

The 3rd card with the BT.....I decided to leave it alone, rather than risk 3 HP's -- Hopefully and crossing fingers......they only pulled once

(7/23/16) AMEX FICO EX 728, (6/20/16) Discover FICO TU 747, (7/24/16) Barclays FICO 750 (TC Lines $400+K) AAoA= 4.3 yrs

Congratulations, Mid october till now has been busy for my credit report. I got two Amex cards(I was unaware about the two for one special), and then I also had my credit pulled for a car lease. I have read that if you do to much in a six month period it puts up a flag, so Im trying to avoid that if possible.
