I recently transferred $18.5K CL from one AMEX card to another. The CL on the card that initiated the transfer is now sitting at 2K CL, and has just updated on my credit reports. The other card with the higher CL will not get updated for another 18 days or so.
What is the possibility of any lenders that can SP my credit reports within the next 18 days, to view this as a red flag, falsely assuming that I just incurred a CLD initiated from AMEX? I understand that after 18 days, AMEX will properly update the information on the other card to reflect the CL change, but I have noticed that all of the FIs I have credit cards with have been consistently SPing my credit reports at least once or twice a month.
A few days after I requested the CL transfer, I was approved for a WF Reflect card. Also, I applied for USBank Altitude Connect "a day before" this CL change got updated on my credit reports. I am not sure if this peculiar situation may cause unjustified AA or lead me to my application with USBank being denied?
Is it advisable to start a "dispute" with the CRAs on the AMEX account that won't be updated for 18 days? It wouls basically be a request to have the CL update be reflected sooner than 18 days. Or am I just being paranoid for nothing?
Unless you have a lot of red flags where a lender seeing others taking what appears to be AA would be the proverbial straw, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Don't dispute. They accurately reported your account. That is not what the dispute function is for. Keep in mind that if you have a credit score offered by a lender, they SP for that to get your score. But all lenders do regular account reviews.
