Converting ?

When you convert a card to another one from the same company, do they give you a new card in the mail or do you just keep the one you have? I am due to get my MTVU card in the mail in the next few days and I talked with CITI and said they can convert once I get the card. I would like to get the Diamond Preferred Rewards card.

Thanks!

As far as I know, YES, you can continue using the old card.

Re: Converting ?

When you ask for product change, they normally send you a new card after the product change. In most cases you would retain the old account number or they will change in your Credit report the old account number to new account number. It will not report as a new account. Citi is pretty good. I changed my AA bronze to Div card last year. It was very smooth. I am wondering if I should change it again to one of Citi Branded Amex Card. I feel doing product change and  having a new card in pocket keeps the urge to apply for new accounts.
