Correct me if I'm wrong

ive seen that there is a big rave over amex 3x61day CLI. I dont think I want it though. For what I do the current limits are fine. And I plan to PIF or at least have 1-5% reporting.  the higher limits may just temp me to spend more to reach that 1-5% I understand  my overal utilization will go down but im still not convinced. I feel like I'm the only one though.Smiley Happy

I like to have an bit of higher CL so i don't have to pay multiple times an month , and i find it easier to keep your utilization in check with higher CL. I don't get anywhere near my CL but i just like having that extra cushion.

If you don't trust yourself then don't worry about it. Also unless you're apping there is really no need to maintain a super low uti. PIF is good though to keep from paying any interest.

My day 61 is coming up and I am right there with ya. I do not put enough through my Amex where additional CL is needed. Honestly, I will only put $1000 a month through it at most. I put most of my purchases on my CSP or Discover

No - you are not the only one who feels this way - and it certainly is good to see more representation of this type of thinking.  The good thing is - you can request what you think you will need / want, and it does not have to be 3xs your currently limit.   I hope to NEVER need a $30,000 or even a $10,000 CL.  It is nice to have a $10,000 CL on a card - but if I am at the point where I NEED that - then that means that I have one hell of an emergency or I am not handling my finances appropriately.  And I want neither situation in my life.

You're definitely not the only one. My 61 day mark is coming up, so I know how you feel. I don't currently have a CL higher than 10K, at this point that may be the only reason to ask Amex for the 3x CLI. Decision, decisions. Smiley Happy
