Do you ever apply for a credit card just because your favorite team logo is on it .
Umm, that's a no for me.
Never got into sports, and I only apply for cards that either better my existing rewards cards or fill a rewards gap.

Me too, but obviously issuers know/believe there is a market, both with stuff like NFL offering from which ever issuer it is, and with affinity cards reflecting college teams etc.
It should never be a sole reason (or to my mind in the top 20!) but if you either don't care too much about maximizing value, or as a tiebreaker between similar cards (and some affinity cards will benefit the org to a minute extent)
I did x2, but they were both variants of cards that I wanted to apply for anyway so I figured why not.
MLB card - rebadged BoA (Customized) Cash Rewards
Discover NHL - rebadged Discover IT
I'm generally not attracted to the card type as IMO the tangible benefits they offer tend to be mediocre at best.
Sadly yes, but i was denied the card even after pre approval so oh well. I didn't need it anyway, was just trying to pad my profile.
The NFL cards are nothing to write home about with their perks. But I still have my "Check Card" from 1991.
If I am remembering correctly, there used to be a sports card that offered 5% CB unlimited like 2 days per year. It's discontinued.

You're bringing back memories. I once had the NFL card. It was with that card that I bought my Jacksonville Jaguars sweatshirt.

For my second credit card ever, I did. I ordered a Patriots football credit card because 90% of me wanted the design (and knew I wouldn't really use NFL shop points). The other 10% wanted a MasterCard, since my first card was a Visa. There must have been credit tiers or something, because when I opened the mail that day (like 15 years ago) there was a Visa inside and not a MasterCard. Since I didn't want a second Visa at the time, I never called to activate it, and that was that.
