Credit Limit Increase Question

I froze my CRs in order to prevent random application since I am in the garden. I do want to grow my current cards however. Do I need to unfreeze my accounts to get CLI with Amex, Discover, NFCU, ETFCU, Synchrony as these are my main cards/banks I use.

Thanks.

NFCU is usually a HP unless you catch them right after an AR which can be SP. If they need a HP they’ll ask you to unfreeze.

Disco is usually SP and so are Sync and Amex.

Re: Credit Limit Increase Question

Good job on keeping an eye out for yourself. Softpulls would not require a removal of the credit freeze you currently have. It would require it if they did a hard pull. You're bigger financial companies such as AMEX, and DSVR, and Capital One do not do a hard pull. I have had a HP from Citi before.

Re: Credit Limit Increase Question

HP's from Citi are only after you get the SP language and request for more then what they give. It's not often they do an HP now. I've done multiple CLI's with Citi and only take the amount approved in the SP language, it does ask if I want more and to specify how much, then it'll do an HP (I always decline this).

Sync, Amex, Discover and Citi are generally SP's unless asking for more (Citi). CU's are generally known to HP.

Re: Credit Limit Increase Question

So what it is sounding like to get increases on Sync, Amex, Discover, Cap One, Commentiy, places that usually do SP I should be fine to leave frozen.

With places like NFCU and ETFCU I will need to unlock the reports.

I will caution you that when it comes to Synchrony, its best to have your TU unlocked when soliciting cli, especially if calling Credit Solutions. I have experienced many time they could not access credit report. Yes, they are your creditor and should be able to sp your reports but this isnt always the case with them.
