Anyone else here planning on getting the Wander card Visa Platinum with AF? I always get a annual national parks pass so the rebate makes this card very attractive, and seems like I would do a lot of spend in the bonus categories.
I know Credit One is mostly a crappy bank but seems like they are trying to branch out with their new offerings.
Better cards out their with no AF that will cover those categories. Others can chime in, but assume Amusement parks would be entertainment or some category and other 2% cats such as dining is common if not beat, etc. All depends on scores, etc. Others will be chiming in with cards similar, but certainly not worth the AF in my opinion and the APR for said card. If your scores are around 650+ you will be able to beat this card pretty easily.
Definetely open to other suggestions. I usually go to Disneyland 2x a year and spend $2k plus each time which would equate to $100 cash back minimum at the 5%.
Im not aware of any other card that has 5% for amusement parks.
My score is 677 currently..... BUT I had my chapter 7 discharge a month ago, so most lenders still won't touch me.
5x is a good rate but also research if the points are worth 1 cent each. Some banks reduce the value when redeeming for cash.
Savorone has amusement parks included and that 3%. If you spent that $2k and got $100 back on Wander, you're still out $95 for the annual fee so you only really end up making $5. One the savorone you'd net $60.
Bank of America cash rewards also has a 3% no annual fee card that includes amusement parks under travel. So you'd have the travel and amusement park covered on one card. If you don't qualify for the unsecured card they'll offer the secured version and it still has the rewards options. It does have a cap of $2,500 per quarter so consider that as well.
I'd check out the prequal link for capital one first and see if you can get that one.

Elan Max Cash Preferred gives 5% back at Disney without any annual fee up to $2000 a quarter. Also, you can use it the rest of the year for other categories.

True but for me the AF is effectively $15. You get a rebate for the national park pass which is $80. I did verify that the points are 100 points = $1 dollar
The chap 7 will make it rough for Us Bank aka elan although the savor 1 if cap 1 wasnt included might be an option. Most likely credit one will start you with a 300-500 CL which wouldnt cover your amusement park ventures and I believe they have a 3 payment per month rule or at least use to on pulls, but not sure on push payment. Just something to keep in mind.

True so then you'd come out ahead regarding cash back. I think what @CreditCuriosity mentioned about the limit really applies to all the card options. You might get a lower limit at any of those banks that may not cover the full costs of the trip. All these choices are always a risk, just gotta figure out which one is least risky
Just a Data Point here, but Credit One approved me for $1500 2 weeks after my Chapter 7 discharge.
YMMV.
