Credit One got the axe today.

So I'm updating my reports this morning expecting the update from Credit One to come though for a $0 balance and yes, it updates...............but I have a $5.00 Balance.

What?!?!?

So I call in and speak to a CSR.....

Since the interest is charged immediately on the card there was a $4.66 Balance on the statement closing date. Really?? I PIF on this card at the beginning of the month..

So now i'm pretty livid, I speak to a supervisor.

She informs me if I want to have a $0 balance report I need to call in EVERY month and ask for a "payoff amount" on their CREDIT CARD.

Your kidding me right??? Not gonna happen. Close it now.

Supervisor: "Well LS2982 you do understand that this will negat........(me: I'M FULLY AWARE OF HOW CREDIT WORKS CLOSE IT!!!")

Thank god I am done with these subprime idiots.

Payoff amount ????  Like this is a loan or something.   Good call on kicking them to the curb.

Exactly what I said. I was a fool for getting this card but I was so anxious a year ago to start the rebuild process. Done with subprime. Next to go is FP in March.

Ok, so Master LS Kenobi, What cards are currently in your possession and rationale for them? You seem to have this down quite well. I'm learning. Slow but still learning..... Oh yeah....Congrats!!!

Re: Credit One got the axe today.

I had the same issue with FP in January.  Come to find out they charge the monthly fee on the same day as statement cuts, so the only way to have it post $0 is to pay the monthly fee in advance so you actually have a negative balance when the statement cuts.  As soon as I close on my house - that sucker is gone!
