I completely understand why it is upsetting to cut back on stuff like that but if you do not, you are doing far more harm to yourself. Also, keep in mind, if you do not adjust your lifestyle even after you get out of this debt then it will just happen again. This is not a temporary thing, it is a lifestyle change.

I know... I am not sensitive about my situation at all... I put myself into this mess... I just wanna be able to get out of it soon....

You and she could probably whip up some pretty fancy meals on your own at a fraction of the cost. Get a cookbook with your favorite dishes in it and give it a shot. Then you could cut back your dining out to once or twice a month for a while. Just a thought. Good luck with getting everything paid down - you will get there.

I totally understand. My BF and I have had to do the same thing for different reasons. We would eat out at high end resturaunts prob 4x or more a week, sometimes more. It wasn't unusual to have a $150-$300 dinner bill and I don't even drink!
I had to tell the BF we had to cut it out because I was on medication and needed to stick to a really strict diet. He was sad because it's something he really enjoyed and it's something we enjoyed together. But we've adjusted we go out maybe 2-3 times a month now and we both like it so much more! Now going out is special not routine. We can really appreciate the flavor and execution of our meals and not think..... MMMMMMMM last night's was better. We've become very creative in our cooking at home, we like going to the grocery store armed with a list and maybe throwing in something special. We even LOVE grilled cheese and tomato soup night (Monday's) and we love doing our own Taco Tuesday. It's great to learn to cook gourmet meals for each other and to even spend time in the kitchen preparing food together.
I'm sure she will understand and will even enjoy spending time in the kitchen with you.
OP...have you looked at possibly getting a lower interest loan from a place like Lending Club or Prosper? Not sure if you would qualify wiith very high Util but if you could you could consolidate a few of those high balnces into a single monthly payment and reduce some of the interest rates. That may make it easier for you to focus on paying down a single balance rather than having to make payments to each card.
That would also get some of your balances down so you dont get CLD,s. The danger of doing this, is if you run up the cards again you'll then have double the debt.
Good luck on getting your debt under control, you can definitely do it if you focus on your future and not just enjoying yourself today, I know it's hard, I enjoy the finer things in life too but you have plenty of time to enjoy that stuff.....I'm assuming your pretty young.

I only wished I knew how to cooked! maybe it's the reason why we eat out a lot... I do love her cooking but our work schedule right now just won't do it... I will try your suggestion though and see if it works out.. I actually would love to just stay home and make food.. I guess I really need to google some recipes and try to cook!..

@I haven't really looked @ these places... I did take a personal loan out from my credit union ($5000) last year to pay my debt but i ended up using the cards for the holidays!! I didn't cut up my cards then... I finally did at the beginning of this year... I am thinkin about using my dad's citi card that has a balance transfer offer of 3.99% until march 2016 but then again, it's only for $4500 and I really don't wanna include him in my mess...

Well, after having a bad credit for 6 years, I finally got into prime.. went from low 500's to low 700's... I have a car loan that's $20000 which is $450 from my credit union. No rent payment, just other utilities totaling $300 a month. Income is around $60k .... I don't know why I did this to myself .. first time I ruined my credit was when I was young and dumb but my debt was only $6k ... I want to cut my debt in half at least until the end of this year but don't know how it is possible. I started saving $1k a month since january of this year. Should I keep saving $1k and pay minimum on each card, then pay off some of the balances at the end of the year???? Please helppppp!
I'm going to re-mention "The Great CC Payoff Challenge". It's a great place to get some motivation and to track your progress.
Beyond that, before assuming anything, I'd like to see your current interest rates. I'd hate to suggest that you pay off something that's 5% interest when you're paying 36% on another balance. (Example)
In the garden until debt is paid off and scores are up!
