Credit card for brother?

Hey everyone! I'm just looking to see if anyone can give me some advice on how to help my brother extend his CC's. currently he has my Cap One with a $520 limit which he is a AU on, it has reported and his equifax FICO is 638. His annual income is $12,000 and he has a average account age of 7 months and oldest accounts being 10 months a installment loan. His eequifax only has 1 inquiry from Cap One, he applied for a regular quicksilver and they are still reviewing his status. Anyone have any tips on another card or two he can add before letting them age all together? Thanks in advance everyone.he has absolutely no baddies and all on time payments. Just a short history as of now

Re: Credit card for brother?

Is your brother a student? If so, I might try for the Discover It for Students.

Re: Credit card for brother?

I think cap1 would be his best bet for now. I would suggest having him try for the QS1 with the AF you can call after about a year and get that removed and reimbursed for it.

BK7 - 2/21
Cap1 QS - 2k (4/21) - Closed
Mission Lane - 4k (11/21) - Closed
Venmo - 900 (11/21) - Closed

VentureOne - 2000 (7/22) - Closed
CareCredit - 15000 (6/23)
Sam's Club - 5000 (7/23)
Venture - 5500 (8/24)
HELOC - 33000 (7/23)
Venture X - 15000 (11/24)
WF Reflect - 5000 (6/25)

Re: Credit card for brother?

If denied for the Cap1 card he could get a secured card from SDFCU and after 6 months try for a regular BoA credit card and if denied be offered a secured $99 for $500 credit limit. SDFCU doesn't unsecure but reports to all credit reporting agencies and has very good rates.
