Credit card for medical expenses?

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a card that would be the best for medical expenses?  I had the BHG More card which offered 0% for 6 months for charges over $499 and then after the 6 months, there was no residual interest accumulated.  So it worked pretty well for myself and DW.  But, the other day, I got a notice in the mail that they are discontinuing this card and they are closing the account, which kind of sucks.  DW has some things coming up that we were going to use the card for.

With that said, is there another card that would be a decent type replacement card?  We'd prefer a MC/Visa card so it could be flexible to use for other things as well, but the most important thing would be for medical.  DW already has a Care Credit card, but we use that exclusively for vet bills, so we don't want to tie up that card with anything else.  DW has excellent credit, so applying and qualifying for any card shouldn't be an issue for her.

So what would be good options?  Thanks in advance for your insights!

Re: Credit card for medical expenses?

  1. Citi Simplicity Card, 0% for 21 months on BT, 0% for 12 months on purchases
  2. Wells Fargo Reflect  0% for 21 months on BT and purchases
  3. Bank of America BankAmericard, 0% for 21 months for purchases and BT
  4. Wells Fargo Active Cash 0% for 15 months
  5. Bank of America Cash Rewards, 0% for 18 months for purchases and BT
  6. Citi Custom Cash, 0% for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers

Some of these are new card holder offers, so be sure to look before you leap! Best of luck.

Might want to check out the Venmo Visa. Not sure what sort of intro rate it might have, but if you use it for health related expenses, that's one of the categories, and you might get 3% cash back on it.

Re: Credit card for medical expenses?

Personally,  I have a x4 card medical deck. Everyone's different, but this is mine.

1. CareCredit = long term medical financing big sums at 0%apy.

2. myWalgreens = 10%  wg brand, 5% name brand, 3% prescriptions.

3. FNBO Evergreen = 2% everything + 0%apy 12mo + $200 sub for $1k spend in 90 days + cashback can be ACH Deposited into any 3rd party Checking or savings account. I put mine in a HYSA.

4. (Not a credit card) AARP Membership = health related discounts stackable with credit cards savings.

With the above 4 cards I pretty much have all bases covered.
