Yes, I know the story that you're speaking of. There was an error in the AMEX marketing database where lots of offers went out to children. I wish I'd captured the link for the forum. But, it had to do with different activities or programs that parents either setup or paid for their children using their AMEX card which is how the kid's names got into the mixing bowl (as much as I can recall). On the other hand, check out the "Credit In the News" section to find an article about "Sub-prime Credit Card Offers Picks Up" where not only sub-prime but all institutions are beefing up their mailings this year.
