I have heard a rumor going around that Alliant will be nerfed soon to 1.6%. When I called, customer service was not able to confirm, but now I'm looking around for alternatives.
Was the AOD card opened to applicants after its nerf to a $1500 cap? I remember it was closed to apps a few years ago.
I don't have a lot of money to put in a brokerage account, so BofA isn't a very attractive option to me. How is the hoop jumping with US Bank?
I value a good user experience and have a bias towards preferring credit unions. I'm in Northern California for geofenced recommendations.

it's opened back up, joining will be a EQ HP and you can probably use that HP when joining for the CC, be prepared for that

Thanks for the info! Suppose it's time I joined the bicycle club.

AOD, Robinhood, Aven for 3%.
There is nothing at USB for you. The Smartly card requires too much money in a no-interest account to elevate the CB beyond 2%.
The Stanford card looks nice, but Ambassador level requires a few things I don't have unfortunately. It requires $2500 monthly direct deposite, specifically indicating zelle/transfers/checks don't count.
Then you need to meet two requirements:
Easy one: monthly $500 spend on their card
Hard: $50k invested with them, open a vehicle or person loan, have a mortage with them, deposit $25k
Most accessible would be 20 debit transactions but that's realisticly still a burden. Unless there's an easy way to do that? Idk Even if there was I don't make $2500 a month.

Still too much work IMHO but you 'could' take the same $2500 and set up auto deposit and withdrawal and just keep using the same $2500. But you'd have to find an institution that could spoof a DD with Stanford. Some banks are easier than others to trick a DD. As for 20 debit card transactions, the old days of 20 auto $1 reloads to your amazon gift card balance are gone, now the minimum reload is $5. Not sure if there is another way to set up some sort of auto 20 $1 payments.
Re: debit swipes, I saw someone mention very recently that they use venmo or similar to P2 in $1 increments at the beginning of each month.
