Credit union cc better than others?

Having quite a good day just received my verification in the mail that chexsystems could not verify the information the were falsely holding against me wasn't valid 😊. So of course my first plan is to open an account at logix(Lockheed) it's been a goal of mine for quite some time and the only thing holding me back was chexsystems now I'm free and clear. So before I go, I was wondering when they offer me a credit card should I app or is my current card lineup good enough? What perks come with having a cc from a cu?

usually just APR is the main perk but depends on the CU and card obviously. what is your line up? ( can't see it on mobile)

the NFCU cashRewards card is the same as capital one's quicksilver but i would rather deal with navy on a regular than cap1.

generally speaking credit unions don't use "profit" and give it back to their members which is rarely in the form of credit card perks. many even go through third party companies to house their credit cards. while there are many good credit cards out there from CUs i would say in general banks may offer more. they have higher profit overall and can offer more in terms of perks.

example - the CU i work for has a premier rate card with no rewards as low as 7.7% with a 720+ score but with a 3% BTF not to exceed $200
barclay has the ring 8% no transfer fee no rewards

other examples i could give but you kinda get it i hope

It's a platinum rewards card it just won't let me copy and paste benefits

those credit union points are usually quite poor in redemption

When I first dabbled into the credit union arena, my first hook was that people tended to get huge credit limits and the apr was low.

so i joined a few, didnt have sucess until a year later with PenFed giving me my largest instant approval to date!
