Re: DCU Visa ...

Thanks; I didn't know about this either.

By the way Consumers Credit Union pays 3.09% on balances up to $5k, if you're after 3% interest accounts.   They pay 4%+ if you have a CC with them.  I'm assuming they still accept people from out of state.

Re: DCU Visa ...

I applied for a DCU checking and savings account last night. About 2/3rds of the way through the application, they offered me a car loan up to $30,000 and their VISA Platinum credit card up to $5000.

I wasn't interested in those offers, and figured if i needed them, I should be able to apply for them later. But it sounds like some of you aren't getting those offers right away?

Some people do get the preapprovals. I wasn't one of those. Cold apped for the card and it wasn't a great experience. Now it's sitting at 10k at 8.5% APR. It wouldn't be something I'd wanted to do again, but not mad that I did it in the first place.

The auto loan was a great thing that I'd do again if need be through them.

What is the account for 3.09% on 5k? I don't see it listed here: https://www.consumerscu.org/Rates/Deposit/

Re: DCU Visa ...

Well - after keeping me waiting for about two weeks they went and denied me. They didn't like that I had high utilization on a couple of cards (cards that I really wanted to BT to theirs).

Oh well, will work on getting those down a bit and will try again later.

Sorry for your denial! They're conservative, to me.

Re: DCU Visa ...

If you do a ballance trasfer to their Visa card, whats the interest rate? Do they have like a 0% for so many months? I was aproved for 10k at 8.50%. So if I did a transfer woud it still be 8.50? My card I want to transfer from is like 15%.

Re: DCU Visa ...

I don't think they had a 0% intro offer but 8.50% would've been better than the 19.9% card I wanted to transfer from.

BT would be the same as purchase APR. I have not seen any 0% offers. At least not on my account

You should try Citi Simplicity. 18 Months 0% interest on balance transfers... (Random offers even after the first time).
