I bank with Chase and they just shut down all 3 cards I have with them - without notice or reason!
I am Furious to say the least and not even sure I will give them a chance to explain. I think I will just transfer All money out and over to NFCU at this point. Why bother with a bank that has no appreciation for the $$ you keep with them and the countless on time payments, over payments, pay in full months etc.... Never once have I done anything like make a minimum balance payment or remotely been late or any of the sort.
I am blown away and disgusted!!
I hope everyone heeds this warning and finds somewhere else to go.
Dear friend of mine had her Freedom Card shut down 3 weeks after getting it - I thought it was a fluke thing - apparently not. Really nice thing they are doing to people right before Christmas - I hadn't even taken advantage and run the darn thing up!

Too late. I already did.
On a serious note, How long have you had them?
I'm sure they did it for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON...
Why wouldn't you want an explanation? Something happened that caused the shutdown and it's in your best interests to find out what

As hard as it may seem, try to take a step back. Take a deep breath, cast aside your emotions, and think about your options for a moment.
There was obviously a reason that Chase did this. It could easily have been a computer algorithm that detected something with your credit file that raised a huge red flag. I would call them and find out what the reasoning was, etc. Try your best to be polite and civil and the CSR will be more apt to try their best to assist you.
What they did does seem pretty drastic. If it were me, I'd at least want to hear some answers as to what sort of thing triggered this knee-jerk reaction by Chase.

+1
You likely did something to spook them or something caught their attention. Maybe you can even get the accounts working again (maybe just frozen for security reasons?). Chase has some of the best rewards credit cards. I for one will continue applying to Chase for credit cards as they are no worse than any other big bank and they have better cards than most other big banks.

Right. If you are truly surprised and it is out of the blue, certainly ask. Banks do not shut down cards for no reason, BUT sometimes the reason is due to a mistake, bad data in a CR etc, which it is in your interest to know. You may not get a reasonable answer ("Your account was closed for security reasons", or "transactions inconsistent with the T&C") but you might.
If you know why (such as heavy MS) less reason to ask. But in that case your post would be a little deceptive!
OP, did you talk with a CSR to at least get a live voice to tell you why three cards were shut off? That's a fairly serious move, and would be done only with some sort of reason. I've had Chase for years, cards that I had with other banks mostly which they aquired in, and they've done CLD and accelerated payment rules to reduce their risk, including closing cards, but there is always a reason behind their action.
You should probably try to really get to the bottom of what that reason is. The truth is important to know.
ONLY New account is NFCU LOC but it isn't even reporting yet .....
What is MS?
