Interesting concept.. Guess Delta allows you if you are a delta card holder to fly now and pay later being within 6 months. If you still owe at the end you pay 2.5 cent per mile though..Wonder if it works for the sign-up bonuses as well on the cards aka get bonus prior to spend..
I just logged into mine and I do not see the option? Do you know where it is?
I logged in to my Delta Reserve and it is under offers and benefits on main page, mixed in with the other offers....I clicked it to see how many miles I can borrow and got 12,000....now as I understand it, I would have 6 months to "put back", by putting spend on the card, the 12,000 points, if not they would charge me (at one point per dollar spend, that is $12,000 to spend in six months, granted you can use offers to get more than 1 point per dollar BUT seems like a lot of spend in six months for me anyway, and guessing your flights would count with this too??? I did not read that though) ....interesting I guess, not sure how I would use this....

I believe you read it right.. It is certainly a money making thing for Amex and can get yourself in some trouble if not well grounded as it is kinda form of credit with credit if that makes sense . Interseting none the less.. It is based on your patterns of spend prior to how many miles they will forward to a person at any given time is my understanding. Don't have my delta card anymore, but needless I find it interesting to try to get business/spend on cards
I would be interested to see what other card holders "borrow limits" are!

Looked at my g/f's account and she can borrow 5K miles. Not sure if it's related to how much you use the card which in her case is virtually none.

OK my wife uses mine like it was free money...so there you go.....LOL
I saw this on my account this morning, did not click thru to check number of miles.
It it will be useful if one is close to a needed SkyMiles total and would otherwise buy some topping up miles at the going rate to complete a booking. It works out to a small loan you pay off with future card spend, so if someone borrowed 12,000 miles they would be on the hook for $300 to pay AMEX if no further spend.
I just checked, I can't seem to find that offer on my account.

Nothing on mine, either. Perhaps it's because my card is new?
