Delta Gold Amex...sl 1,000

I've been in the process of rebuilding over the last year. I was approved for the Delta AMex gold sl 1000.00 in March. I use the card and always PIF. Is this card ever going to grow? I just need to hear from someone on here that I will eventually get a cli. My scores are in the high 600's and I have QS 5,000 limit, Cit 1500, local credit union 3,000. I know it's going to take time but I just want to know from someone on here that their card eventually grew. I haven't seen anyone on the boards get a cli with 1000 sl. I know that I barely got my foot in the door but just hoping...

Have you tried requesting a CLI. It’s a SP and you can request one every 181 days if approved or 91 days if denied.

That would be your best bet as I’m not sure how often Amex gives out auto CLI. You can request 3X your limit at each request. If the computer is unwilling to approve you for 3X, it will counter offer.

What were the specific reasons given for each CLI denial OP?

The first time I tried was at the 61 day mark and it said account was too new and collection. I have one collection from 2013 that's paid off. The second time I tried was 2 weeks ago and I thought I would have a good shot because my CO increased from 3000-5000. The reason for the denial was collection again and high balances on open accounts. I'm not sure if it was talking about my student loans or my other CC's. Since then I have paid off all my cards down to 0 except CO that's running a balance under 30%.

It will grow, not overnight as some might have you believe though.
My Reserve card started out life as a Delta blue with a $1k limit in 2008, it's current CL is $28k.
It took me a few years and a few denials to get it to that point, I'm due for a CLI request but probably won't because it is not needed, but, I feel fairly certain that if I rquested one I would be approved.
Amex is all about history, good spending habits and good paying habits. Have patience with the card, use it and PIF each month.
Six months from now have another go and as long as your score is still in the high 600's, your overall UTI on other cards is low, you should see an increase.

OP when will that collection fall off your report?

It seems from the reasons that will keep a lid on things until it is gone.

Keep using and paying on time, and CLI will probably begin once your reports are clean.

It's weird because the collection was there when I got approved. The collection falls off next year.

I had one collection when I first got my amex card.  My scores were similar to yours at that time.

Was denied for the CLI at 61 days and then again at 150 days. After the collection fell off experian ( its still on the other 2) Amex really opened their doors for me. I now have ~40K in credit lines with them and it's been roughly 18 months since i first opened my account.

This is obviously just anecdotal evidence as I was also blowing through my credit limit every month and making several payments. It could have been either one, both or neither. Just my experience.
