I have posted about capitalone before and I know a lot of others out there have had their share of CapitialOne cards product changed through various methods.
My capitalone platinum MasterCard was converted to qs 1 reward 6 1/2 months ago. The card is 2 1/2 years old, that was my first upgrade ever. I know CapitalOne requires 6 months in between upgrades, unless you go the EO route. So I occasionally send out the secure chat msgs asking if anything is available to me and always getting the check back in a few weeks comment. Previously, I have contacted capitalone via facebook about a question and always got a "let us tell you about the modify your features button" response. Tonight, I contacted them with a facebook msg. and they responded promptly asking for some basic info and then responding back they will look into an upgrade possibility for me, to we will call you tomorrow to discus this matter" message.
I appreciate anyone reading this long post btw, my credit has improved a lot of the past few years. My history with my capitalone cards I use is excellent, never late, pif, run at least 300 to 800 dollars through the card a month. Now, I have better cards, with better rewards, no annual fees and higher limits. Up to 2 months ago, my go to cards were boa cash rewards and quicksilver 1, now I use SallieMae, Freedom, Amex and BOA for all my spending... I think capitalone should have some kind of mediocre offer for me. I always read on here people have luck contacting Facebook and getting an offer, so I am curious to see what they say tomorrow.
I am pretty much thinking they are going to say this," we are constantly working to make better products for our customers, unfortunately the card you have is either not eligible for a different product change or check back with us in 3 weeks, we occasionally put offers on your account response.
If they actually offer me something, Ill throw QS into my rotation again for sure! Just needed to vent that one out.
I received another facebook msg. from capitalone, this time just confirming a good time to call me today. I am hoping they product change. I feel like if they didn't want to help, they would have just sent the generic msg of trying to modify features online...
I am just wondering if since I started out with platinum mc 2 years ago, received an upgrade for quicksilver 1 rewards, my card type is just not able to move forward?

Hang in there and keep trying. I have had 2 cards for about 2 months now, a QS1 and a Platinum. I reached out via chat and had both product changed to QS and Venture One, so it can be done. Just keep trying...

Unfortunately they don't do that. I just went through this yesterday. Once it's a MC, it stays a MC. So my product upgrade from QS1 to QS is still a MC, not a Visa.
I would LOVE the product change to Quicksilver Visa, but I have heard MC to Visa is not do able/ some people have been able to do it?
I have an excellent history on my card I am trying to PC, it just plat mastercard with qs1 rewards.
I think capitalone uses Equifax 04 credit score model for existing customers, well I am hoping at least because my PowerScore Fico through Equifax is 730 and it resembles previous credit scores on capitalone cli declined letters.
But again, I would love a mc to visa upgrade lol!
Furthermore... I tried two different chat reps and one walked me through me checking myself in your online account, and my online account said I didn't have any upgrades available. Then the next rep checked on the back end and said that both accounts were available for upgrades.
ok awesome! i thought that was the case, I am happy with a QS silver MC... I hate that QS 1 card for some reason and the annual fee.
I am just hoping they come through for me, cause online chat and 800 number always says no. It has been 6 1/2 months since my last upgrade, I should be worthy for one.

I wish you luck! You should hopefully receive something. How I received my upgrades in 2 months, I have no idea! With you having your card as long as you have I'd ask the chat rep today if you can. If the rep only wants to walk you through how to check it yourself close out the chat and get another rep. Good luck!
