I just logged into my Amex acct to make sure that my payment process before the end of business day yesterday since the 20th is the closing date for my acct & I notice that my acct no longer says "Thanks for being a loyal cardmember since 1996" ![]()
Instead it says "Welcome to Amex. We're happy to have you as a cardmember"..... Does this mean that they removed my backdating?????
Has anyone else experienced this????
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)If it doesn't give a different year, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they've changed it. Probably just changed the welcome message.
Ok NOW I can breathe.... LOL!!!!! I was kinda worried for a minute there becaue I could of sworn that I read somewhere that Amex puts that message for new cardmembers & since I had to go on the biggest MISSION for someone to actually find me in the system in order to backdate me, I couldn't imagine having to bother again.
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)Well I don't know for sure. I don't want to worry you. I'm just saying don't freak out until you know. How long ago did you get them to backdate you? Can you check your reports and see what opening date is listed? When I log on, under Summary of Accounts it says "Welcome [Name], member since 1998" Is that where you're looking?
I see the same welcome message as Walt, still reflecting my original member since date. No changes for me, I'm guessing there must be a glitch somewhere. I doubt that they have altered your credit reports.
I had just paid my bill and didn't notice my member year mentioned. So after reading this I decided to double check. It's still there, same message at the same screen as Walt, with my member since year. I do not remember it showing up on the page linked from an email to pay my bill however. So if that's how you signed in, you may have went past it. I have to admit, I wasn't paying attention for the member since year so I could have went to the summary page from that link.
