Did I get approved?

I applied for the Bank of America Americard Better Balance credit card and got this message after sending in my application;

Thank you for submitting your credit card application.

Your business is appreciated and careful consideration is being given to your request, but an instant decision cannot be provided at this time.

You will receive a written response within the next 30 days with further information.

I'm thinking this is probably a denial....

It is not neccesarily a denial. I got the same message when applying for the CSP and when I logged onto my chase account later that day it was already reporting. All this means is that you were not an instant approval and the underwriters have your app so they can do a manual review.

i had the exact same thing and had issue with the bank because of it
called in and the lady said i was approved with 1000 CL but other people says that she must've read my approval line from the cash back rewards card from prior month app

all in all for my experiance i was denied the credit anaylst said that i was maxed out for the line of credit allowed to give to me

in ur case expect a phone call and/or also be prepared for a recon method (not saying you been declined but just be prepared for the worst)

Try calling the backdoor number.  It may be something as simple as needing to verify some information.

I agree. This happened to me and after calling they asked questions, then approved me.

It will be manullay reviewed by a human / computer could not make a decision. Good luck to you!!!

+1 - the same thing happened to us when we applied. Called and verified information and was approved...

Well guys I called and it was unable to process. Sucks. Means I got an uncessesary hit on my credit.

Sorry to hear.  IMO, once you receive the letter (unless the analyst already shared the reasons with you for not being approved) just work on those items to increase the chances of approval in the future.
