Did I mess up----

I think I asked this before but dont remember if I got an answer.  This is showing up on some of my credit card accounts on my CR.  How long will the CRA keep this on my file.  I disputed some lates before I found this forum in hopes something positive would have happen....how can I get this taken off....the funny thing about this situation is I just sent GW letters to get the lates removed...(I am all over the place) still waiting for responses.

  • Consumer disputes this account information
  • Credit Card

Thanks!

Thanks Guardian that does answer my question...and it is with HBSC... should I write a letter to the CRA requesting that take it off or could I call...

Thanks for taking out the time to respond all of you....as I am a newbie here......and what I am thinking doesnt come out right when fingers hit the keyboard.

Good, glad it helped and you could do that in writing if you want, but most likely they will take that as a dispute request and pass it off to the creditor which in this case is HSBC and that would be pretty much a waste of time and often comes back worse as "Dispute resolved, consumer disagrees" which pisses me off, I have dealt with them many times. I had this show up on my EQ only and I was able to call them with my report number and ask them to do it and they did eventually. Hope that helps.

Re: Did I mess up----

This  statement is showing up on 3 of my credit card accts on my credit report.  Does this have a negative affect on my score...I pulled my scores from my bank and it stated..." these disputed items were not included in my score"..... because these are not included I was thinking this is probably  why my scores are currently low.  The lates are a few years old.

Hope that makes sense...sorry.

well if you have lates on these accounts and these accounts are currently not in your scoring, that would be helping you, don't you think?

Re: Did I mess up----

I agree with txjohn, the question is a bit confusing but if I can take a crack at it, you wonder why the "consumer disputes this account information" is in the comments, right? This happens when you dispute and some creditors, such as HSBC, will put that there and the unfortunate part is that when they do resolve it, most often they don't take that off, which is just plain wrong but you can ask the CRA directly to remove that since the dispute is resolved and most of the time they do, although often they will send a dispute request back to the original reporter to update it, since the comment is theirs. Does that answer your question?

Re: Did I mess up----

That would be the hundred dollar question and maybe 30 or 40 pts in scoring.  I could really use them when deciding my utilization.....plus they have been paid on time for the past 2 years.  should I call CRA?

Re: Did I mess up----

I GW'd a late on my Sears MC online, and their idiotic word-recognition software interpreted it as a dispute, and Citi entered it as such on all three accounts.

My scores went up, as it was a recent late at the time (two years old now), and the late was excluded from scoring. It's probably worth about 5 points now, but I'm still irritated enough by it not to ask them to take it off. Both the late and the "dispute" show on all three reports.

I've never had any reference to the so-called "dispute" in subsequent apps, and Sears/ Citi amazingly gave me a CLI, so I'm just letting it ride.
