Apologies for the off-topic, @coldfusion. But the original reason card age came up was definitely related to topic. From my experience, more often than not, my cards have tended to survive in either the same or another form if the original version was discontinued. OP seemed concerned about involuntary loss of account age due to product changes, and I was trying to reassure him that mandatory closure is not a frequent outcome.

I don't know about 'baby' but I do highly value it, @Anonymous! She will be 28 years old in June.
Getting to see your cards "grow up" is one of the perks of getting old! Lol
I always recommend planning applications for the long-haul, if possible. SUB-chasing and excessive card-hopping can limit building strong credit profiles and FICO scores. While there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of SUBs if they are convenient, remember that cards are a financial tool that are worth much more than a mere SUB or the rewards rate.

With cards old enough to be young adults and have grand children, these LT plan the cards we invest our HP Apps on is wise indeed. 🙏🏻🤩🤩🤩👊🏻
While cards may be discontinued, because I'm seeing, hearing, expecting the Prime Lenders to PC over time usually in some way, I'm focusing my App investment of HP's and dings to wedge my foot in the door more with 1 or 2 more Prime Lenders this year and then use, pay, watch and pray.

Don't mean to throw cold water on the party, and yes this is off topic, but a 27-year old card? My cards have an expiration date and I'm sent new ones every 4-5 years. Is what you have some sort of non-expiring card? Have the numbers on the card remained the same for 27 years, meaning that you've never been hacked or needed a replacement card?
If we're talking the length of the actual account, then I have a 32 -year old card, as I think a lot of people my age do. No miracle here, just loyalty.

Yes its the total age of the account not the actual card age.
