I noticed this morning that my newest Discover card (8 months old) had the CL dropped from $2k to $500. My older account is still at $2k. I called them to see why, they said too many recent inquiries, too many new revolving accounts opened and unsecured loans. They weren't able to do approve the second review due to an old car loan that was 30 days past due. I've tried so many times to get them to remove that 30 day late but they won't. It was a car I traded in 4 years ago and the dealership took a long time to pay it off.
Sorry to hear that you were hit with this. Most lenders are paying close attention to the SP credit reviews right now due to COVID and getting spooked with profiles. It is a huge bummer to be impacted by past mistakes in the current situation. Having a credit limit that low can be very tough and require several payments a month and the util impacts are rough. The late will impact you for a few more years, my advice would be to focus on getting overall util down and let things age a bit more and then in 6 months or a year try a CLI.

This has definitely made me realize I need to lock myself in the garden lol It is a bummer but hopefully I can get it back when my card hits 1 year.
