Discover Charge Off

Back in 2004, I had a difficult financial time.  The list of chargeoffs in early 2005 were Discover (2.5K), Cap1($500), BOA (2K), and Key Bank/Citi (Citi bought out Key Banks card services, also my oldest TL at 9 yrs with over 5K).  I'm pretty happy with the CC's I have now, but I want my Discover back eventually.  Cap1 took me back and I don't really want Citi or BOA back.  But I loved my Discover card.  I settled the account, however, for for just over 1K.  It was an offer directly from Discover.  It was never sent to a CA.

Last year, during my app spree, I applied for a Discover More card and was shot down.  I have since obtained an Amex Delta Gold, but I just feel empty without my Discover.  How long do you think I'll have to wait?  Will I ever be able to get a Discover again?
Scores: TU (FICO8): 781, EQ (FICO8): 798, EX (FICO8): 788

In my wallet: Chase Sapphire Preferred: 16,000 | Chase Slate Edge: 8,100 | Bilt World Elite Mastercard: 16,000 | Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature: 8,500 | PenFed Visa Gold: 12,500 | Penfed Pathfinder: 15,000 | Apple Card: 6,500 | Lowe's: 35,000 | Northern Skies FCU Platinum: 15,000 | Kohls: 3,000

Mortgage 11/20

I couldn't find a definite answer, but a few searches here and through other sources seem to indicate that Discover does not "blacklist" in the sense that they will always remember your CO the way Amex does, but approval for a new Discover Card seems next to impossible if the Discover CO is still listed on your reports.

Again, I have no idea personally.  That's just what the searches turned up.
