Discover Cli request!! Need advice

I've had my discover card three months. A rep told me about a month ago to wait till you have had the card for three months then try for cli. I went on tonight and it asked me for income, name of employer and housing expense. I put it all in and then a page popped up asking to confirm my phone number and that they may need additional info in which a rep would call and they may have to look at my credit. I'm assuming if I click ok (which I didn't, I cancelled it) that it would be a hard pull? It also said it may take 2 days. I have a SL of 1600, 660 scores across the board, 17k avail credit with capital one, car lease, 0 percent uti, and I spend little on my discover card but would spend a lot more if I had a higher limit. I make atleast 1 payment a week to all my cards. What should I do? Click continue for the Cli or call or wait?? I haven't had any late payments in over 3 years, 2 old collections for 2008 and that's all. Actually my eq says 656 right now on discover, 672 on transunion

Looks like your account isn't eligible yet for a sp cli. The only two choices you have is to keep trying to get the sp increase or take the hp for your first increase. Then you should be able to hop aboard the Discover cli train. Some have reported having to take a hp first. I kept getting that message for 10 months before I ever got my first sp increase. Under this new cli policy it has been reported that between 61 and 90 days of account opening you become eligible for a sp increase. Sometimes with Discover it takes patience. Then once you get your first one, you can hit the button every 16 or 17 days. Smiley Wink

Thanks baller. Good info. Now if I could just get cap one to give me an increase on my qs. It's at 5500 now but I got an auto increase of 500 last month and 3 months prior to that I requested and got a 2k increase when the card was only 2 months old!! My venture is at 13k now

What determination for an SP.  Way to 'stick it out'.

Are you a member of a CU creditman? Always good to one or two in your back pocket. Smiley Wink Also, Bank of America is good. Check their cards out. Citi also has the Double Cash. I'm a big fan of diversification. I have lots of different lenders in my portfolio.

I am not a member of a credit union. Which one should I go with? I have no military background or family members so the nvcu is out I think.

Re: Discover Cli request!! Need advice

I've heard a lot of people needing the first CLI from Discover being a HP and then SP after that.

The luv button wasn't even an option for me for an entire year. I started with a $1800 limit, and they auto-increased it to $3500 after exactly one year.

Then the luv button appeared and it wouldn't go through unless I agreed to a HP. Bam - instant $6500. After that it's been SP CLI every 17 days and I'm at $9500 now...

So I don't know if I'd personally allow another hard pull after only 3 months unless scores and things have improved...
