Discover Counter card

If you apply for Discover and get countered the other one is it offered by HSBC or Direct Merchant?

Was looking at whogavemecredit and they list both banks.

I know I wouldn't get Discover, but I also think I'm black listed from HSBC currently! but the person that got it had the same scores as me now.

From what I read, DMB used to be its own entity, but HSBC acquired it.

so probably not a safe bet then if I'm only getting offers for Secured HSBC card due to them being in my BK.?
