Does Apple/Android Pay (mobile payments) using either of these two cards for the 5% cashback quarterly category disqualify the extra cashback? Apparently, Discover does not award the 5% if the card is used via Apple Pay. I chatted with support and they stated that these payment methods don't qualify, but I notice that my purchases for the category still show up on my transactions as from that category.
Any experiences/thoughts? Discover has it in fine print that mobile wallets may not qualify, but I haven't found a disclaimer for the Freedom card.

Can’t speak to Discover but I know Apple Pay works just fine for the 5% for the Freedom. I would assume the same is thru for Android Pay and for Discover as well.
Other can correct me if i'im wrong, but you should be safe with Chase getting 5% using that payment method.
