Discover IT APR Decrease Request

About a month ago I received a SP CLI per my request on my Discover IT.

Today, I used their Chat feature for kicks to request my APR be lowered (Assuming CLI and APR Decrease requests are on the same wait timer)  from the current 19.99%. Rep came back a few moments later and said it had been lowered to 18.49%. Not much, but i'll take what I can get for free!!

Congrats,  Citi raise mine from 17.99 to 19.99 claiming higher risk,  I called less than 2 months later and it was reduced even lower to 15.99.  It never hurts to ask esp if it's a SP.

great move and great results. I like discover.

I call discover every time I go from carrying a balance to being paid off and ask for a decrease in apr or a special apr. I have gone from 22 to 17 over the past few years just by asking, it is always just a point or so just as you got. However I also tell them I want to use the card a lot in the next few months, they usually give me somewhere between 0 and 3% for 6 months at a time. In the 3 years and 20k ive put through the card ive paid them very little interest.
