I went to the Discover pre-screen site to see what offers they can match me with and it brought up the Discover IT card. I have done this before, but it never gave me an personalized offer. I have one CU card and a Cap 1 mastercard with a $300 balance. My scores have gone up significantly (from the low 500s) from 5 months ago and I have done extremely well with my current obligations. I just don't want to apply for this thing and get denied and have a HP. I really want to garden a bit more, but I think it would be good to have another TL. The prescreen offer says: No Annual Fee, 0% APR for 14 months and then 10.99%-22.99% thereafter. I want it for the cashback program ideally and a good name card. I couldn't find any other posts relevant to this so, Aany advice would be appreciated before I follow through on this thing. Thanks.
Discover pre-screens are NOT considered reliable.
The only Real pre-screened personalized offers is when they send you it in the mail.
Honestly not to discourage you but Discover seems to come up with personalized offers no matter what information is listed. I've put in my name with the wrong social numbers, Goofy Debarge, my exes info when I know he has horrendous credit, and someone else here put in Mickey Mouse. All came up with personalized offers. But if your FICO scores are around the same range as the FAKOS listed and you dont have any collections or late payment history then you probably have a decent shot. But I wouldnt depend on the offers they come up with. Good luck!

Assuming they aren't addressed to HOMEOWNER like the last batch I received
For comparison, try some of the other card prescreens. See if you get a personalized offer. If you do, then go back to Discover and take it if that's what you want - if not, then maybe give it more thought. Like I said, I hear the prescreen website isn't very reliable.
Thanks everyone for your advice. I still have 2 charge offs and I haven't rehabbed my student loans yet. But I have read other posts on people that barely had income and not good scores that were approved. I also ready posts from people that had better scores, but were denied. What other prescreen offers would you advise me to check out besides Discover? Thanks.
i never had any credit cards or anything until march i got a cap one. a few weeks ago i went to discovers website it said the same thing for me and i applied for it and they approved me and gave me a 1000 CL. i only make 20k a year too. you should also see if you are prescreened for barclays rewards card they apporved me too.
Chase has a good pre-screening and i have heard cap1 has good screening. I would also assume Amex has good screening.
CITI does NOT have good screening.
Personally for me the longest time i couldnt get a pre-screen offer on discover the only time i showed up was when i got an offer in the mail and i accepted the offer. Same with Chase.
