Hi y,all!
I applied for the Discover secured Nov 2022. I deposited $200. Last night I received my congratulations email. 8 months later and 3 days after statment closing. I'll get my deposit return, New Cli $1,000. I was wondering if I should request Cli through the App to see if they'll give more. Should I wait and try after next closing date?
I'm traveling in Aug should I wait to hit the travel notice and see if I'll get a cli due to me traveling out the U.S?
If they just unsecured it with a CLI don't waste your time requesting another one yet. I started with $400 and got unsecured with a CLI to $1800 and a year later I'm still getting "insufficient experience with current credit limit" as a CLI denial reason (it's now my lowest limit card). It's not enough for me to not recommend as a rebuilding card or possibly as a first card, but it is frustrating.

You can try later. Its a SP. But like @Zoostation1 said. it will be a while. But hey x5 CLI per say. Disco loves heavy use and PIF. Congrats on graduating.
Thank you. I'm going to wait until after 1yr mark and after closing date see if they'll auto increase. I'm not in rush but was wondering. Discover is very good ar giving cli without asking. I have friends and family with the card and they were given auto cli every 6 -8 months at least 3/4 times.
I think your issue maybe your overall credit and how you use it. Even though your credit is in the 700s that doesn't guarantee an increase. People with high scores get deny. Overall it may just background. Could be you have too many inquiries, run your credit often or you may just need to pay down some of your other cards. Give it some time.
Have you called in for a reconsideration? What does your denial letter says?
Thank you. Yes, I use it heavy and PIF🙂 I'll wait until 1yr.

Congratulations on Disco graduating your card. Check that Milestone off your credit list. Also, enjoy your trip abroad. If it were me, I'd call Disco csr and let them know your itinerary and casually bring up how this credit card will be your "go-to" and is there any chance you'll qualify for a cli before you go. Won't hurt to ask.
Mine graduated in early June.
Went from $200 to $1,800. I pretty much maxed it every month and even cycled a few times too.
surprised you only got to $1,000.
