English may not be her first language, but that CSR is based in the U.S.
+1 we are a nation of immigrants. After reading all these threads about low initial CL with Discover, I'm shocked they started me where they did (6k ICL)

However, the limit they set me up with is $1,000 which would be my lowest limit card.
I'm happy I got approved but at the sametime pretty disappointed I couldn't get a higher limit.
I called the backdoor number and spoke with someone I doubt is based in the US and they pretty much didn't budge on the credit limit and told me I should call back in 6 months and said they might maybe consider increasing the limit.
I heard a lot of good things about Discover but this card is likely gonna stay in the sock drawer.
Just in case, I called 888-676-3695
Has anyone else had success in getting a limit increase right after approval with Discover with a different number? Any advice is appreciated.
Yeah same thing happened to me...I got mine when everyone else did (first of the year) and have already paid it twice to hopefully show good usage so I can get a nice little CLI after 6 months
Call them after 6 months.I started with 1500 limit on my discover more card then after 6 months I called and got approved for 5000 credit limit increase. The c redit anayst asked me how much increase do i want and I told her 5000.I should have asked for more.Oh,i just switched it to Discover it card now.

Discover is 100% based in the USA
+1. I was just approved tonight. When I called I immediately noticed the recording said, 'you are being transferred to an acct manager in Az' . I'm not sure if it says that on the regular Customer Service line but I can attest to it on the the account status/ application line.
