Discover Miles

Am I missing something? I believe you can apply and get a Discover Miles card and just use it as a 1.5% cash back card. Why not do this instead of using the It card for non-category charges? The It Card is only 1%. This is 1.5%.

Under the redemption it says you can redeem for cash to your bank account as a direct deposit.

What am I missing? Lol. Not sure why Discover would not advertise this as a 1.5% cash card like the CapOne QS. I would much prefer to support Discover than CapOne.

Re: Discover Miles

The Discover miles card is a cash back card even though they call the earnings "miles". Unlike other pseudo travel cards (venture, boa travel card) the "miles" don't have to be used for travel to get the full 1c value.

Re: Discover Miles

I have this card, and I believe the first year is double "miles" so the 1.5 per dollar is actually 3 for the first year. And yes you can cash out to a checking/savings account no need to "erase" a travel charge...it really is a 1.5 cash card.....

1 "mile" = 1 cent no matter how you redeem it

Re: Discover Miles

YES YES YES!!!!

$0.03/dollar spent for the 1st year

$0.015/dollar spent after that

It's one of those not so discussed things around here for some reason.  It's been coming up more often though as more people with IT dig into the site more while waiting on their CLI's Smiley Happy

There are 5 different flavors of Discover.....

IT

Chrome

Miles

NHL

Secured

Each has a different perk to it that's unique to the card.

Re: Discover Miles

The NHL is not a separate product, it is just a card design
