No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Has anyone else seen this? Apparently you open it with $25, get a free debit card, free checks, only 1 overdraft fee is charged if you overdraft, and no minimum to stay fee free. Looks tempting.
Just looked and don't see the same offer on hubby's card. Weird.
I actually got a card in snail mail for $50. I have so many checking accounts already that it really takes more than $100 to seriously consider it though. The Discover offer did amuse me a little as I've had a savings acct with them for a few years after my 1st denial for credit card. They always told me it had absolutely no impact on their decision to extend credit or not. Maybe it's a different department that targeted me for the $50 offer, but I filed it in the shredder.
I got it last month and so far so good. Getting a fifty dollar bonus for keeping the account open until June. I don't plan to use it much yet, but for now I am using the debit card for small purchases where the $.10 back is better than my other rewards
I have the Cashback checking account, they sent me an email offering the $50. It's awesome. I transfer my money from pnc into this account any pay my credit cards through the online bill pay, which will net me 10 cents per online bill pay and per check i write. I was so surprised when they sent me 250 checks for free, pnc doesn't send me checks for free, let alone that much either. I also have a savings account with Discover.
Me and Discover are real tight best buddies! ![]()
Where do I find the $50 offer?
I saw the option on my account the other day and it actually seemed pretty interesting. After doing a google search though I discovered others were offered $50 for signing up for it. I’m just going to wait until I receive this targeted offer, but once I do I’m looking forward to signing up!

They randomly sent me an email offering $50 to open an account, I thought it was some sort of phishing scam at first cuz it had a different number to call than their banking center phone number and when i called the number listed in the email it went to busy with no automated system, so I called the regular banking center phone number to confirm the email was legit before i clicked on it.
where do you guys bank that makes you pay for checks..? i have so many checks it's ridiculous, and i've certainly never paid for them. i used to use them for rent, but now i pay that online, so i use maybe one or two a year.

PNC
1st order $28.54 for 120 checks
2nd order (automatic reorder) $17.99 for 120 checks
I have no idea why the second order was less.
With Discover being free and being paid 10 cents each to write checks off the account, my pnc checks will sit for a long while now as it may take me a few years to go through 250 checks. ![]()

To OP and other person who asked where to find the $50 offer -
The Cashback checking from Discover is currently in "Beta" so to speak, and is closed to the public. You can only open one by invitation only.
