May as well take it. Continue to request CLIs monthly after your statement period ends and you see your FICO score update on their site. Eventually you'll get something > $500.
I received my Discover card with a $6000 limit in February. Requested a CLI online after 3 months and received $500. Was kind of disappointed by that but I'll take any positive movement. I requested another one 3 months after that. Another $500. Neither of these was instant. I received a message saying I'd receive an answer in a few days. I think I'm going to start trying every month. From a lot of the posts that I've read, it looks like it can grow to a healthy limit. My goal is $10K+.

If it was an instant approval, call and do the double dip. This is when you request a higher CLI with a SP. If they say they will have to do a HP, decline the HP.
Is it better to call in vs online?
I would accept it and try again in a few months. When I first had my Discover my increases were small but eventually I would get increases in the the thousands.
The last time I tried for a Discover CLI was Aug 4th. It wasn't an instant approval. I got the two day message. I was rewarded with a $500 increase. I tried again on Tuesday. That was 7 weeks after the last increase. I logged in a few minutes ago to see that my they have added $2700 to my limit. It's now $9700. It's growing nicely!
