Well, I tried to apply on Discover website today, but got a strange result (maybe it's normal with Discover, don't know).
After I filled in all data required I got a screen saying: "You are approved. Create your account online" with some other information requested (like choosing Cash PIN, setting up an account number for Online payments etc.). I completed this step and got the screen:
Congratulations! Your registration is complete and you're approved.
Your account was requested on 05/30/2012,0X:XX AM EDT.
Welcome to Discover!
You have been approved. You'll receive your new card in the mail withing 7-10 days at the address provided on your application.
We'll get busy preparing your account and setting all your preferences, and will be ready within 4-5 business days. Once it has been setup, you can make changes at any time by accessing the My Profile page at Discover.com. You will receive an e-mail message when the Account Center registration is complete.
At the same time when I check my application status using my social and zip code, I get a message:
Discover® Card
Date Submitted: 5/30/2012
Your application is being processed. We have received your information but need to perform additional processing before we can provide you with a decision. You will hear from us within 30 days of your application being submitted.
Please check back in the future to get an update on the status of your application.
I can't log in using the name I've just created too. I haven't seen suggested CL too.
So... does it look like an approval? Or something gone wrong and I should start to worry? :-)
